My Second Meeting with William Petersen, 6 days after : Tuesday 07/07/09 at the Victory gardens
This night was the second time that I saw Blackbird, I was with 2 others french girls (Charlotte and Virginie) that I've met the first time that I saw the play, the sunday before during the afternoon. The theatre's stuff knows us because we were from France. So at the end so we went behind the stage waiting, 1 min after William Petersen apparead, he walked to us, and then shake our hand and as soon as he saw me told me "Hey ! We've met before, so how did you find the play" I answer "I've never been so tense during 1h15 min in all my life" so his face showed that he totally understand me, then the Charlotte asked him about the public's reaction during the play, because sometimes they laugh whereas the situation is not, he said that it was nervous and that now he began to know very well the public reaction. Then I asked him how does he feel about Ray he started to answer but Mattie Hawkinson arrived with others peolp eso he did something that very surprised me by showing me to Mattie hawkinson and said "she's from France and has seen the play in france" I immediatly respond "oh no I'm not living near Lyon but I've heard about it a lot" he said "oh ok" (but guys do you believe it he remembered also about what we had talked 6 DAYS AGO !!), I shaked Mattie's hand and asked her age she told me 27 , I was very surprised and said "OMG you're excellent and 27 only we're going to heard about you a lot" W.petersen was just on my right and agreed with me and said "oh yeah she's excellent" I repeat again my congratulations (there were others people with us, Dennis zacek, the friends of mattie ..) and then when I was saying again to Mattie that she has stunned me I put my hand on W.Petersen's shoulder, and said "I'm not telling you that you're great because you already know it" and everybody laughs, then W.P said "come on ladies let's go in the corridor it will be better" (for the pictures and autograph) we talked with Dennis Zacek who proposed us to give us 3 of his personnal books that he read when he was young ! Then I give him my chicago hat and my black pen for an autograph he asked me my name I said "Alice " ..... then for the spell "like Alice in wonderland" he signed "Alice, peace, William Petersen" (see the picture above), then he did the same for Charlotte and Virginie on pictures, he then went to see a (I think) friend of M.Hawkinson talked to her a little and signed an autograph, then he gave me back my pen, so we talked about france we told him that he has to go in france he answers that he've been there a lot, then asked me "are you from paris" i said "No, from britanny" he answers "ahhhh Britanny", then we take pictures, for mine he said when we took it "I am sorry i am all sweaty" (which was true he looks like he had run for 3 hours, we could feel that he was tired, but you understant when you the play, because it's very hard physically too !) I said it's okay don't worry. Then i shaked his hand and thanked him again "thank you very much, take care, and I will you all the best for after the play" he thanked me and looked at me very nicely then I told him (still shaking his hand if I remeber well) that I was leaving tomorrow, and so without seeing it coming he kissed me on the cheek so i show the other (like we do in france) he did the same for the others 2... he had lost a paper in my bag so I said "sir" he turn and I said "you forgot this" " oh thank u" then he was leaving the corridor with Dennis who was telling him "tohave a good rest" and others people (maybe 3) and then i said out loud "By the way" he turns and I said "You're not that fat" (because in the play they talk about it) and so everybody really laugh and especially him and he answers "ahh I love the French taste" then we said our goodbye, and talked a little with D.Zacek and the staff thanked D.Zacek for his books and his welcome and we left.

To conclude this 2 meetings were wonderful, and I liked to exchange point of view with W.Petersen who is a really great man, really really nice and kind, who listens you, and got an incredible presence ! thank you again Mr Petersen
