The episode opens up with a slow motion, staggered Matrix (The movie) style sequence of two men entering the morgue,
bursting past David Phillips, who tries a vain attempt to stop them, as they snatch a body,
then walk past Doc Robbins, who disables one to the ground with his crutch,
Hodges acting the hero pulls Wendy out of the line of fire as a shooting mayhem erupts in the lab.





Catherine and an unknown male become embroiled in the shootout,
the male receiving a shot to the shoulder. Seeing one of the perpetrators,
Ray masterfully uses a karate style kick to throw the perp though a plate glass window as bullets zoom past him and puts the guy out of action.

48 Hours Earlier

The next screen shows a close up of a tarantula in a terrarium moving its legs,
then as the camera pans away we see a book on Arachnids then Nick lowering the book to look into the spider habitat.
We see Nick lower the book, then stand and slowly but nervously reach in towards the Arachnid and let it climb onto his hand,
before drawing it out to look upon it with a sense of achievement.



Ray is in one of the labs practising his skills on how to identify different stab wounds as Conrad Ecklie walks in observing him. After Ray explains what he is doing, Ecklie then mentions all the courses the Dr has taken and achieved over the summer months to improve his CSI skills. Ray distastefully tells Ecklie he has taken them in his own allotted vacation time and financed them himself, to which he is congratulated by the Under Sheriff, who then informs him he has reached level 2 status as a CSI now. Brass escorts the team to their new crime scene which is packed out with onlookers and press being held back by the crime scene tape. They pass by a critical victim on the ground being worked on by the paramedics called to the RTA. Asked what all the attention is for the crime scene Brass is about to answer when Greg recognises the female victim as a famous actress Olivia Hamilton.

We see the team looking over the crime scene making note of certain clues around them to give them a picture of what has happened, then we see the paramedics lifting and taking away the still alive, but very badly injured supposed driver of the other vehicle as the CSI's start their processing. The upset boyfriend of the victim turns up in a distressed state and is held back by officers.

Tag line - Ray: Everything we need to know is right here in front of us.

There is a short clip of TV reporters telling the viewers about the actress' death to the media. It is now daylight and the female victims body is just being taken away by the assistant coroner David Phillips, as the rest of the team carry on their processing. Catherine receives a text/page telling her of a 420 at a Boulder highway motel and tells Greg he is to attend the new crime scene. Greg looks at her incredulously saying;

Greg:Your kidding? your sending me on a trash run to a fleabag motel? Catherine;Whats the problem? Greg:I mean why me? When there are people with less seniority? Ray:I'm happy to do it. Nick:That's not the point Ray. When your supervisor assigns you a case you don't whine about it, you take it, you don't.... Greg:Who asked you.. Catherine:Nick i need you over here. Nick:You know better than that. Greg:Fine!

There is now a scene with Brass and Denny Ocampo, Olivia Hamiltons boyfriend in an office at LVPD, followed by a short clip of yet another media report on the actresses death being watched by the officer at Greg's crime scene. The cop makes a comment about why they have the crappy motel room murder to deal with then they could be handling a high profile media case like the actress' one instead.



Greg is back at the lab processing the trace evidence he found at his crime scene, he has not identification for his male victim making him a John Doe. Catherine visits Doc Robbins in the morgue to get the findings of Olivia's autopsy. Doc tells her the injuries the female victim sustained are consistent with a side impact RTA, but that the young starlet was eight weeks pregnant.

Ray attends the hospital where the other severely injured victim from their crime scene identified as Richard Wilkes. He is informed by the physician there that the patient suffered a broken neck in the crash consistent with hitting a crash air bag and not wearing a seat belt, and was intoxicated, he gives the clothing evidence to Ray to take back to the lab.

There is a very short scene of Catherine and Ecklie in the lab when Ecklie brings up the incident with Greg and her almost arguing at the crime scene. She states part of the problem is being understaffed without Riley, who has now left CSI. Conrad reassures her that he has the matter in hand and has help on the way, stating that Catherine will get along fine with the new person.



The truck that seemed to have rammed Olivia's car causing her death is in the lab garage being processed by Ray & Nick. Henry gives them the Tox report results stating the victim/driver in the hospital was intoxicated with high alcohol levels. Nick Opens a holdall and finds a vial of white liquid which he passes on to Henry to test. He hands Ray a binder folder which he then examines and it is revealed that Richard Wilkes was most likely a crazed stalker of Olivia and hell bent on setting out to kill her. Nick opens a suitcase which was in the truck and inside he finds a knife, duct tape and rope, so they theorize that Wilkes was going to perhaps kidnap the actress before killing her.

They are in the layout room as they explain along with Catherine about the updates and latest findings with the case. They state that it looks like a stalker Wilkes deliberately set out to kill the young starlet, but Ecklie is a bit cautious to take that to a press conference or release it to the media, so he asks the team as a whole if he should go with their theory. Ray seems to not be comfortable with this theory just yet.



Ray and Nick are studying some traffic camera footage taken from near the collision, they note the time of what must have been the smash, but Nick points out that he knows that particular street and cant understand why all the sets of traffic lights are on green, but the last set where Olivia's car was impacted is on red, when normally they all read the same color at the same time. Ray spots a small white light on the image of the red traffic light so they zoom in on it and realize it is a sensor for changing the light signal, which makes them suspect that their prime crime confessed suspect may not have been the driver at all. Ray receives a letter from the shootings review board clearing him of any impropriety of the shots he fired, & man he killed in the season 9 episode 9.23 All in



Tom O'Neil body guard to Olivia's boyfriend Denny Ocampo is waiting at the crime lab reception for his man, when Hodges approaches spinning a yarn about once meeting him at an event, then David concedes he never actually got past the rope outside to be let in. Tom gives him his personal card and tells him to use that in future, to which Hodges looks chuffed. Tom then asks how the case is going and Hodges tells him they have the killer, who's confessed and is a stalker in the hospital so looks like it is their man for the killing of Olivia. Catherine approaches with Deny and Hodges backs off as they all go down to the morgue so that Denny can see his girlfriend, they see David Phillips in the corridor examining an X-Ray as he apologises for them being backed up. The sombre scene is quiet and no words are spoken as Denny sees Olivia then leaves the room followed by O'Neil.

Ray and Nick are back in the lab discussing the red light that stopped Olivia's vehicle and Ray seems distracted and in thought, so we next see him back at the hospital with Wilkes, who is mumbling and stuff. Ray puts a face mask on him then uses an ultra violet light on his chest to emphasise the presence of bruising across it to suggest a seat restraint was worn on impact, not as first thought.



Catherine, Nick & Ray are discussing the new details of the case and they now strongly suspect that Wilkes was not the driver of the truck, but was somehow doped into becoming almost unconscious then moved into the drivers seat position after the crash occurred, leaving them to find a new suspect. Conrad marches into the room throwing a magazine onto the desk which clearly shows leaked inside CSI information that has come from Catherine's team. Conrad tells her she should know what is going on with her team and storms out as Sara walks in asking if this is a bad time. Ray & Catherine leave to follow up on the case, but not before she tells Sara they must catch up.



Greg walks in with a beaming smile upon his face at seeing Sara and they embrace happily as her grin is as wide.

Greg; 'Sara' ... 'What are you doing here?' ... ''You tired of being happy and married?'' ... 'No, Grissom...
Sara:Grissom is guest lecturing at the Sorbonne (See interesting facts bottom of page), waiting for our research grant to get funded, and Ecklie called, he said the team was down a man, and he wondered if i could recommend anyone. And as much as i love Paris, and my French is actually pretty good right now, i still missed you guys.
Greg:Well we missed you too.
Sara; So hows the world treating you?
Greg:Still being treated like the lab tech with the crazy hair




Catherine goes back to her office and finds Riley Adams file and begins to read her damning exit interview. Enter Hodges offering a bright red apple as a kind of peace offering, and some kind of quote as he admits to being the unintentional leak in the lab to his boss. Catherine gives him an easy time all things considered.



Nick Ray & Brass go to a hotel where Tom O'Neil & Denny Ocampo are staying, Nick speaks with the management to see if he recognises Richard Wilkes as being in the hotel, he says not. But Ray looking through security camera footage before the crash too place, spots Wilkes at the bar with a man, as they adjust the film to run a little they zoom in to see that the man with him is in fact Tom O'Neil. O'Neil is seen chatting with Wilkes at the bar and then buying him a drink before they both go out of the shot. They cant understand why neither has any facial injuries if they were the suspected drivers of the truck.

Catherine and Brass are at some gaming table as Denny Ocampo plays and they chat with O'Neil who they now both suspect could have been the driver of the truck that crashed into Olivia's car. Brass takes O'Neil off to question him a LVPD, while Catherine stays to talk to Denny, asking him why he never rode with Olivia the night of her death as he normally would do. He replies 'he wishes he had', asked if he knew she was pregnant he replied 'yes'. Then he pulls a diamond ring out of his pocket giving it to Catherine telling her he was going to give this to Olivia just before he walks off leaving her looking at the ring.

Ray is on an on-line site of Tom Neil's where he sees pictures of the man taking part in driving events where he uses a crash helmet, so it arouses his suspicion. Brass meanwhile is interviewing O'Neil at LVPD, when in walks Ray carrying a gym type bag. O.Niel asks them if they had a warrant to get his bag, Brass replies 'We are Professional' as Ray pulls a crash helmet from the bag. Ray shows O'Neil white powder on the helmet stating he suspects it is from the truths airbag deploying, and will test it, then he and Brass tell him their theory backed up by evidence is about him being the driver of the vehicle that killer Olivia Hamilton. They think that Denny Ocampos father, O'Neil employee asked him to get rid of the little problem Denny had with Olivia and the possibility of a paternity law suit turning messy.

Ray is seen walking through the lab with Catherine as he explains the air bag dust on the helmet is not enough to convict, that he knows that O'Neil is guilty, so Catherine asks him how he's going to prove it. Sara is seen catching up with Catherine in the lab corridor as they both then enter the locker-room together

Sara (About Ray): I like his attitude Catherine: Reminds you of you? Catherine: Sara, I know you walked into some fireworks in the breakroom Sara: What Ecklie. Please Catherine:No, I just read Riley's Exit interview, She had some harsh things to say about my leadership. That the team is fractured, that it lacks cohesion because of me, because of my managerial style. (sitting down) I dunno... I admit it I admit that things are different since Grissom left... Sara:Well, Its like when a great baseball team loses its clean up hitter. Its like suddenly everybody's swinging for the fences and noone is playing small ball. Catherine:Your using a baseball analogy Sara:uh... Apparently part of being married is attempting to share in your spouses interests Catherine:(laughing) Ok, kind of a weird side Sara:(BIG SMILE) I know... (pause) Look you still have a lot of great players and some new talent, maybe you just need to reshuffle your lineup.. Catherine: English please? Sara:You are a great CSI Catherine, and you know how to manage your team. The only thing that Grissom had, that you don't, is you.

The next scene is the opening episode scene shown at normal film speed and from different camera angles to give a different look to the former scene. It starts out with David Phillips entering the morgue and a tap spilling water everywhere as he looks about the room seeing bodies that have been disturbed, then it ends with Sara & Nick shooting at a retreating black van as it escapes. 3 black suited perps shoot up the lab injuring two lab workers, one perpetrator is dead, one alive and arrested, the other one escaped carrying a body bag containing a body, into an awaiting black van with a 4th perpetrator.

Sara & Nick process the dead Perp while Brass observes, Sara comments they are not morticians then notices Russian mob tattoos on the knuckles. Ray & Catherine make their way to the morgue discussing the shootout and why anyone would take Olivia Hamiltons body. Doc informs them her body hasn't been taken, but Gregs bum victim from his earlier crime scene was the stolen body.

Greg & Ray are talking about the missing John Does body when Wendy informs them she has identified the male as Olivia Hamiltons father.

Sara & Nick attend a new crime scene where a wood chipper positioned to what can only be described as a bloody chopped up mess which they presume to be Olivia Hamiltons father. Sara says it might not be him, but Nick asks her if she wants to change that statement when he finds what looks to be a human big toe among the mess.



Sara & Nick are in the morgue going through the chopped up body pieces, as Greg, Ray & Catherine are in the layout room, they talk through the case and make a connection between Tom O'Neil and Olivia's Father, when Ray supplies pictures found on O'Neil camera of Olivia with her father. They go through everything Greg has on his case and Ray thinks there must be something on or in the body that O'Neil didn't want the CSI's to find. When Ray takes a closer look at the X - Ray that David Phillips was holding up and expecting when O'Neil and Denny visited the morgue, he spots what he thinks is a cuff-link on the film. Catherine adds to it with showing bank statements of O'Neil with large amounts of money deposited into his account from Denny's father, suggesting a pay off for a dirty job.

We now see the whole team searching through the chopped up body bits in the morgue, Nick finds the cuff-link and hands it to Ray who immediately recognises Tom O'Neil signature, & what now gives them the evidence to convict the man on both accounts of murder.

Now we see a media report on TV of Tom Hamiltons arrest, then Ray & Sara as they discuss that O'Neil probably accidentally killed Mr Hamilton, but deliberately killed Olivia for his boss and the money.

A tarantula in on the floor by a glass beaker as Nick captures it with enticing it with another live bug, he picks it up as Greg looks on;

Greg:How'd you know he was gonna be hungry?
Nick:Doesn't really matter. They go after crickets no matter what. I think the chirping annoys them
(Both Greg and Nick watch the tarantula in interest)
Nick laughing:Thats not my spider, dude.
Greg: Seriously?
Nick: Seriously!
Greg:Is that little Stevie? Wow he's been missing for years. Ill have to let Sara know so she can tell her uh...
Both: Husband.. (Both laugh)



Next a short scene where Catherine speaks with Nick and she promotes him to Assistant supervisor on Grave, then hands him a thick file to do the paperwork as his new position dictates.

The last scene shows Ray enter the morgue where Doc is preparing a make body for autopsy, a bum called Joseph Bigalow, as Doc cuts open the sternum Ray looks closer look

Doc Robbins: Whoa!
Ray: What the hell is that
Doc Robbins:I was hoping you'd tell me

CSI: Las Vegas season 10 starts filming on 20th July 2009. 25th July - CSI Files - "We're going to launch a new season-long serial killer arc," he said. "Starting at the end of our premiere, a brand new nemesis [will emerge] who has a very unique way of killing." Naren Shankar revealed that "the crime scene is always the body" with this serial killer, who will be known as "Dr Jekyl". Jorja Fox Scheduled to appear in this episode - JFO & is wearing a wedding band indicating her & Grissom are now married. -
