Ray is now out at a crime scene in Elba with Catherine and David Phillips. They note that the male victim has most likely died as a result of a through and through shot to the head, execution style. They flip the body over and the guy has a load of badges on his jacket and Ray comments;

Ray:Wow what a lot of advertising........I wonder what he felt about epitaphs?

Hodges and Riley are now in the morgue with the body processing and trying to identify the victim. Both observe cement dust, and Riley spots the guys hands are heavily calloused. They run his prints and no match comes back.



Ray and Greg are at the crime scene processing, they talk about the tyre impressions and come to the conclusion that the victim was most likely the driver of the vehicle to begin with before being dumped. They start following the footprints identifying that there were 3 people at the scene, so start placing evidence markers down on the ground. Ray spots blood on a rock and they run through a theory.



Ray is now seen walking in the lab as Nick comes up to him telling him he'll see him next week. Ray asks where he's going and Nick tells him he has been waiting a year for to attend an Entomology workshop in Honalulu, stating;

Nick:We need a new bugman.



Ray now in his office looks through his mail, he spots a box addressed to him from a Gloria Parkes,
he opens it and reads the note;

I found this cleaning out the closet (as usual)
thought you would want it

Love Gloria

He quickly glances round then takes a seat at his desk with a security box taking out the contents, he pulls out a picture of a youngish guy in army dress, then a few other bits that i couldn't tell what they were, then he unwraps a star kind of military medal and looks at it thoughtfully.(Also noted he was wearing a wedding band in this episode too, the one he put in his pocket in 9.11 Grave shift)

Now Catherine and Doc Robbins are sitting in her office as he tells her about the bullet he found during the autopsy, when Riley comes in to tell them their identification of the victim is Houston Dobbs.

Then we see Brass inside the Silver Button Diner as he speaks with the lady owner/waitress, she looks shocked and upset when told that Houston is dead, she glares and makes some comment to the cook Walter before carrying on talking. A customer in the diner speaks up about Houston telling Brass what he knew of the guy as other customers join in and give the name of Bruno Curtis.



Riley, Hodges and Wendy are now processing the burnt out car that has been linked to the victim and found by PD. Wendy find a piece of the missing skull from the victim then takes the keys out of the ignition giving them to Hodges to process. He comments that Mandy will have trouble lifting prints then he spots the key ring chain as a an old Captain Huxley logo type and reminisces telling the two women about the Huxley casino and era with Huxleys kittens. When Wendy gives him a curious look Hodges admits to find his information out via magazines only.

Riley finds a belt buckle in the car and shows the other two it, when they show Catherine it she states that it is a small concealed revolver, that her father (Sam Braun) used to own one.



Brass and Ray are now at a casino looking for their suspect Wiley Schindler who has been identified to them as the belt buckle owner, he is in the middle of doing a deal with a man and looks annoyed when they barge in. He admits to knowing the victim and now missing Bruno Curtis, having done some kind of dollar a chip deal with the two men at the Silver Button Diner the night Houston was killed, but denies any involvement. Brass arrests Wiley no believing his story.





Greg and Catherine are now in the layout room at the lab as Greg tells Catherine all about the Captain Huxley era, and that when the casino closed all of the chips should have been destroyed as is the law, but obviously there are always a few floating about in circulation making them highly collectible.





Ray walks in carrying a case and bringing out stacks of Huxley chips and blocks of money, informing them that the 172 chips and $150,000 was found in Wiley Schindlers hotel room.



Brass is at LVPD with Wiley Schindler interviewing him, he gives a theory that greed had him kill them after he wanted more chips, but Wiley denies it.

Now Catherine, Greg, Riley, Ray and Hodges are in the layout room as Hodges tells them the chips are not counterfeit but the genuine thing. They go over theories for the missing suspect Bruno Curtis as they look at a map of where the victim was found. Hodges realizes something as he then tells them that the factory 'The blue bird button company' for producing the Huxley chip originally before it closed is nearby to the crime scene.



Riley and Ray are now out at The blue bird button company with a deputy as all 3 of them draw their guns going closer to the warehouse. While inside they hear and see a brief glimpse of some one running, the deputy runs after the person only to stumble to the ground after the suspect overturns some stuff in his escape. Riley and Ray take up following where they believe the suspect has run to with their guns poised, they spot a blue tarpaulin covered hole in the ground and Ray pulls it back.
Underneath there is a guy laid down injured to his leg sweating and breathing heavily holding his gun in his lap. Ray jumps into the hole under Riley's protest as he takes the gun from the man tossing it aside explaining the man needs medical attention.

While down in the hole with the guy, Ray spots a load of casino chips, most are encased in concrete and damaged in some way as they should be when being disposed off.





After discussing the chips find out at the crime scene with the team at the lab, Riley and Ray are at the hospital with their new sick suspect who has had his lower leg amputated. Riley is mad with Ray for taking risks with the armed mad earlier stating she put himself and her at serious risk of danger; and telling him he is a CSI.

Ray:I'm a physician and i also work at the crime lab.



Ray speaks with Bruno who gives him a run down of what happened the night Houston was killed pointing the finger at Wiley for shooting his pal, but Ray is not fully convinced by his story.

Back at the lab Catherine and Ray are in the break room watching a TV report of Wiley Schindler being released from police custody as he informs the public of his innocence and that the casino chips are in fact fake.

Under sheriff Conrad Ecklie comes in introducing them to Clayton Ferris from the gaming commission, who tells them that the chips should have been destroyed 28 years ago, and normally with the paperwork submitted those chip shouldn't be considered anything but collectors items. But because of some missed clause in the original contracts he informs them that the chips are considered legal and can be taken into any casino in Vegas and cashed in for their monetary value.

Ray:You want us to find them before anyone tries to cash them in?
Clayton Ferris:We feel that would be in the interest of all concerned.



Next w e see that Ray and Catherine have been called out to a new crime scene at The Silver Button Diner owners home, where she lies dead on her bed with Huxley chips surrounding her. Catherine takes a call from Brass informing her that they have arrested Wiley Schindler at McCarran about to board a plane with two suitcases packed with Huxley chips.






Later as Wiley is seen at LVPD being questioned and various short scenes in the lab going over the evidence, everything doesn't point towards Wiley being their murder suspect off Miss Aubrey but it is soon discovered that the cook at the diner Walter Ellis is married to the victim and looking like the new number one suspect.

Ray is now back at the females crime scene as he looks for more evidence and anything to suggest where the suspect could be. He enters the garage and ends up opening the trunk to one car nothing being there. But when he opens the second one shots are fired and Ray runs for cover, a few more random shots are fired by Walter until Ray levels his gun and shoots the man in the chest.





The episode ends as Ray crouches next to the man that is clearly dead from his shot to the left upper chest area.
