I did try to get permission to add this to our site from Saving Sara Sidle using both the web site address & the email address several times only for there to be no direct links what so ever to the site on doing a search, also receiving a failure notice several times on trying to email the admin address, plus each time my computer was bombarded with virus messages on doing the search!
this was the only source of the interview that i could find anywhere.
Please do not sue me as i did try to contact the site, but i know the members of this site wish to see this interview & have been having trouble accessing it online, so on careful consideration of the facts i decided to post for their enjoyment.

CSI's Billy Peterson, who many know as "Grissom" but who fewer people know that he studied in Onati, Gipuzkoa in 1974/75 and whose daughter Maite was born in Arraste, made time in his busy schedule to give a holiday greeting to the Lehendakari (Basque President) and the Basque people. This special holiday greeting and video shoot will be shown this coming week Lehendakari's annual Christmas party gala at Ajuria Enea. This special video shoot was coordinated by EuskoSare's Rosa Totorika and team. He's got a great memory and he remembers this song in Euskara.....
Oñati is a town located in the province of Guipúzcoa,
in the autonomous community of the Basque Country, in the north of Spain

Petersen was also honored this week by Season of Concern, which provides financial support to artists living with HIV/AIDS. A generous contributor to SOC, Petersen won a Larry Sloan Award, named for SOC's first executive director. Sloan, who died of AIDS in 1995, also served as artistic director of Remains from 1986 to 1993. This year's other award winners were Actors' Equity Association, and Larry Baker and the Jersey Boys Chicago company.

No sign of geek baby - I wasn't surprised to learn that so many of you got choked up at the gut-wrenching scenes from Warrick's funeral, but I was taken aback by some commentary regarding Sara's appearance — namely, whether or not she was with child, and if her condition would eventually explain her abrupt decision to leave Las Vegas last season. All I can say is — good God, no. Look, I hated her poofy dress (and the curls she wore with it) probably as much as the next fan, but never in my wildest dreams would I have considered she was trying to cover up a secret pregnancy. That's why I was relieved to learn from a CSI insider that no such treacly twist is in the cards for Sara — who, based on last night's episode, has once again abandoned her beloved for destinations unknown

Billy's last day on the CSI set as a series regular - Warrick was the biggest mistake they could have made," Billy Petersen was back on the Universal Studios lot shooting his last episode as a series regular. Yup, you read that right — his last day was Oct. 10 (though he has hinted about making occasional appearances in the future). Apparently, there were no video crews from ET or Access Hollywood present. Only the cast and crew were there to say their final goodbyes to the "King," Petersen's nickname on the set. So it's real now, folks — Gil's done flown the coop.

The Halloween episode of CSI, Let it Bleed will get a dose of mood music courtesy of DJ Paul Edge. He will play a DJ on the show, and the episode will feature three of his songs: an electronic reworking of the Stone Temple Pilots' "Sex Type Thing", along with two original songs, "Release Yourself" and "LSDevil". "Being that CSI is set in Las Vegas, that helps play a role in choosing the music," producer Phil Conserva told Artist Direct

The season nine premiere of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation crushed the competition with 22.98 million viewers and 7.0/17 in the vital 18-49 demographic. Grey's Anatomy came in second in both viewers (14.54 million) and the 18-49 demo (5.5/13), which it usually dominates. NBC came in third with a combination of The Office (9.00 million, 4.6/11) and Saturday Night Live Weekend Update (10.59 million, 5.0/12). Compared to the airing of CSI from a year ago, CSI was up 3.19 million viewers and 15% in the 18-49 demo year-to-year.

I have looked on the net for it and it doesn't seem to be available to buy yet so i think this e-mail i received telling me about it was a preview, saying that it will be released for sale soon. It may also be only available in the UK seeing as the link site below is a UK site.

Excerpt from the Jorja Interview on the DVD;
Fox discussed her character's relationship with Grissom. "For a show that's not really about romance at all--it's almost the antithesis of what our show's about--that such a huge love story could exist in and out of that is something that was extraordinarily sort of exciting and amazing to get to play," she explained, adding that it was probably her favorite part of the show. She and Petersen played up the feelings between the two characters for several episodes in the first season before the writers told them they had decided to put the romance on the shelf for the time being. "I think in their inherent wisdom they decided that to really break that story too quickly or too fast might paint these two characters into a corner forever, like it would be very difficult to spin them out of that storyline," Fox said. "So it was, I think, a conscious thing on their part to save it." The actress added that, when the writers "decided to bring it out of the dusty closet of CSI story ideas, it was a complete surprise and shock to Billy and myself."

gsrbritfan - 10th September 2008 - The Emmy awards seem to have snubbed both William Petersen and Jorja Fox in this years awards ceremony, with neither receiving a nomination, although Billy will present at the awards.
But Entertainment weekly (EW.com) has come up with their own way of recognizing the talents and performances of many actors and actresses that have been snubbed. They have created their own EWwy awards that anyone can vote for.

'Cause I was just combing through the transcript from my month-old exit interview with William Petersen and stumbled upon this tasty little morsel: Turns out, a dream scenario existed that might have kept Petersen on CSI. Unfortunately, it died two years ago with Liev Schreiber's character. You see, had the show kept Keppler alive, Petersen (only half-jokingly) said he and Schreiber "could have swapped every four months. He does a play, I do CSI. I do a play, he does CSI. It would've been like a professional relationship between two scientists that go off on field trips and sabbaticals and then come back. But I don't know that the network would have wanted that." CSI: Las Vegas - Laurence Fishburne

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Laurence Fishburne is in talks to replace William Petersen as the star of CBS' veteran crime drama "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

The search for a new lead has been shrouded in secrecy, but sources say Fishburne is being heavily courted to play the new character, described as a doctor/scientist outsider to the CSI unit who has the same genetic profile as a serial killer but hasn't previously acted on any homicidal impulses.

Fishburne, an Oscar nominee for "What's Love Got to Do With It," had been mentioned as one of the "CSI" producers' top choices for the role, along with John Malkovich and Kurt Russell.

A pair of stars from two of the network's top-rated programs rank as the two highest-paid actors on prime-time television, raking in well over $500,000 an episode each, according to a poll by TV Guide magazine released on Monday.
Trailing Charlie Sheen in the No. 2 spot on TV Guide's list is fellow CBS star William Petersen, who takes home $600,000 an episode for portraying investigator Gil Grissom on the hit police drama "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." Petersen, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, plans to leave the show this coming season after the first 10 episodes. Still, his salary makes him the highest-paid actor in a prime-time drama series. "The fact that (Sheen and Petersen) both happen to be on CBS is coincidental," said TV Guide editor Craig Tomashoff. "They're at the very top of their game and are the best at what they do. You'd expect them to be at the top of the scale."

Two members of the franchise get Emmy nominations.

The final list of nominees for the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards is in. The CSI franchise has three nominations for the upcoming Emmy awards. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation received two of the nods. 'Dead doll' the premiere of the show's eighth season, was nominated for Outstanding Makeup For A Single-camera Series (non-prosthetic). The episode is up against rival Grey's Anatomy in the category, as well as Mad Men, Pushing Daisies and Tracey Ullman's State Of The Union. The other nomination forCSI is in the Outstanding Sound Editing For A Series category. 'Cockroaches' is up for the award. July 18 - Suicide Inspired By 'CSI'
A death in New Mexico parallels an episode of the show.

A man was found dead along US Route 84 in New Mexico on March 15. The victim, identified as Thomas Hickman, had duct tape over his mouth. The death was originally considered a homicide, but something found at the crime scene led investigators to consider another possibility: balloons. Six or seven white balloons were tangled in a cactus about 30 feet away from Hickman's body, tied to a revolver. (4.03 CSI Episode Homebodies?) The gun's grips had been removed, and the trigger guard was sawed off, presumably in an effort to lighten the gun so the balloons could carry it farther away from the body. 14th July- Fox Fights Cruelty
The 'CSI' actress works to 'Stop Circus Suffering'.



CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) is currently working with Animal Defenders International (ADI). The non-profit organization is promoting a campaign called "Stop Circus Suffering". They are working to urge Texas to ban circuses with animal performers, and they have presented the Austin City Council with their evidence of animal cruelty. "We sent Jorja an advance copy of our DVD and report and told her what was happening to the animals. She was really concerned. It really moved her, and she said she wanted to do whatever she could to help," ADI President Jan Creamer told Celebrity news service. "She's a very compassionate person. What we really appreciate about her is that she is using her celebrity for good causes." "These animals are majestic, wild, large mammals," Fox told the American statesman. "They're some of the great beasts of the world." The actress went on to say, "It's pretty much a no-brain-er that while circuses may have had their time and place in the world ... this is, and should be, in the past."

CSI actress Jorja Fox to reveal shocking abuse of Texas circus elephants – Austin TODAY10 July 2008AUSTIN, TX (July 11, 2008) - Austin – Actress Jorja Fox will be speaking at a press conference in Austin today, to announce a new campaign to end the use of animals in circuses. Animal Defenders International (ADI) will screen a shocking new DVD featuring animal suffering in U.S. circuses. Some of the most savage violence exposed in the new DVD was inflicted on two elephants with Bailey Brothers Circus touring Texas – the elephants had been supplied to the circus by a facility in Cut and Shoot, Texas just three hours from the state capital. ADI say that horrific abuse of animals can be taking place right on people’s doorsteps without them realising. Later today, Jorja Fox will be handing over the reports and footage to city officials with a letter from ADI requesting a move for a city-wide ban on animal circuses, which will be followed by a drive for state wide action. A Spanish language version of the DVD and leaflets also aim to engage the Latin American communities in Texas in the campaign to end the suffering.The campaign has also already gained other high profile supporters including Alicia Silverstone, Kristy McNichol, Anna Maria Horsford and Dan Piraro.

Several CSI: Crime Scene Investigation stars created short video clips for the SAG website showing their support and urging others to do the same. William Petersen (Gil Grissom) said, "I'm a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild, and I support my Screen Actors Guild negotiating team. Please do the same." "I am a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild, and I strongly support the SAG leadership and the entire negotiating committee," Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) said in her video. Former costar Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) said she is "a proud card-carrying SAG member and AFTRA member." She went on to say the SAG negotiating team has been "working diligently around the clock for months now to ensure that all of us have work for ten and twenty and thirty years into the future. July 7th - Petersen: When I Deal With It, It's All Pretend
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's William Petersen (Gil Grissom) was at the airport when the threat occurred. "Boy, they responded great," he told TMX. "The police department, the fire department--everybody's here. They took care of everything. Nobody got hurt, everybody's fine, so it's great." June 20 - Petersen Gets A Star
CSI''s leading man will receive a spot on the Walk of Fame. Also, 'CSI' is the number one show in the world.

Petersen will be honored with a star on the Walk of Fame, and his series has earned an honor of its own. While CSI Failed to beat Desperate Housewives to become the best scripted show in America, the forensic drama holds the title of most popular series in the world. Nearly 84 million viewers tuned in during 2007, putting CSI ahead of spin-off CSI: Miami and FOX's House.

Negotiations continue, but no deal has been reached.

Some television series, such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: New York and New York's lead in Criminal Minds, will have episodes filmed by the time the SAG contract runs out. Other popular series, including CSI: Miami and CSI's competitor Grey's Anatomy, will not have any finished episodes in the can in case of a work stoppage. The networks might push the start of the fall season back if the actors go on strike.

June 2 - Los Angeles Universal Studios Fire
A fire has broken out at Universal Studios (where most of CSI is filmed) and has affected a number of production studios.
Fortunately, CSI has suffered no damage.
'Ghost Whisperer' is the only TV show to be put on hiatus due to the fire affecting some of their exterior sets.

May 31 - The Submissions Are In
The franchise offers episodes and actors for Emmy consideration.

The episode submissions for the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards are in.CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has submitted the season eight premiere, "Dead Doll", and the CSI half of the crossover with Without a Trace, "Who and What", for consideration.

The franchise also made submissions for the acting categories. All three series offered their leading men for consideration. William Petersen (Gil Grissom) was submitted for "Dead Doll",

CSI was the only series to offer a submission for the supporting actress category, submitting Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) for "Goodbye and Good Luck", her final episode before leaving the show.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation stars Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle), Eric Szmanda (Greg Sanders) and Wallace Langham (David Hodges) are part of the 30-day Burma: It Can't Wait campaign. Each day for 30 days, a new video is released. Each video features a different celebrity, but their message is the same: Burma needs help.

The videos from Fox, Szmanda and Langham can be watched below. All of the videos released so far can be seen at the US Campaign for Burma's YouTube channel. Billy Petersen and Marg Helgenberger were recently spotted showing their support to fellow CSI cast member Jorja Fox, when her theatre company open a new show.

William L Petersen has signed a new contract for another year of CSI, but with some clauses in the contract so he can take time off to appear in theatre later in the year.

Jorja Fox/Sara Sidle is rumored to be coming back to CSI at some point in the future, as guest appearances or part of the full time cast is unknown as yet. It is also unknown as yet if she will appear in the last episode of season 8 or if she will appear in season 9.
