Biography:
Daughter of Laura Sidle and her husband, a pair of ex-hippies who ran a B&B in Tamales Bay, California, an hour and a half outside of San Francisco. References have been made to an older brother but as yet it is unconfirmed whether this is a biological or foster brother.
Sara was in an abusive family, with assaults often occurring with trips to the local hospital. When Sara was a young child (age not yet determined) her mother stabbed her father to death ("Nesting Dolls"). She spent an undetermined time in the foster care system (No Humans Involved, Meet Market, Nesting Dolls) while her mother was incarcerated in a psychiatric hospital (Committed )
Academics:
Sara Sidle is probably the most intelligent CSI's on the team after Grissom. At 16 years of age, she gained early admission to Harvard, where she got her Bachelor's degree in Theoretical Physics; later she received her Masters from UC Berkley (official biography).
After college, Sara moved to San Francisco and worked in the Coroners Office (official biography), where she met Dr. Gilbert Grissom during a forensic academy convention, where he was lecturing. The relationship between the two during this period of her life is still undetermined as yet.
In 2000 Grissom was faced with suddenly becoming the nigh shift supervisor of the LVPD crime lab, and needing someone outside of their department to come in to investigate Warrick brown for leaving newbie Holly Gribbs at the scene of a crime, for her to then get shot and later die. He calls Sara to Las Vegas to help him with the investigation, stating to the rest of his team that 'Sara is a friend, someone i can trust'.
Personal demons:
A very Traumatic child hood that the constant abuse she witnessed between her parents eventually led to her Fathers death, leaving an indelible mark on the memories of a young Sara.
Being placed abruptly and growing up in the Foster care system, after her Fathers death and Mothers incarceration.
She gets too involved emotionally to some of the domestic abuse & rape cases, (Pamela Adler & Scott
Shelton case)
Has been known to be insubordinate with her superiors Conrad Ecklie & Catherine Willows when she was supervising the swing shift in (Nesting dolls)
Sara has used alcohol as an escape from her emotions and thoughts, but does not seem to have a real problem with it especially after her nearly DUI
Isn't always comfortable in social situations.
Has undergone some PEAP Counselling where she revealed her traumatic past.
Defining Cases (or Episodes):
Season 1
Episode - Episode 1.02 Cool ChangeSara arrives in Las Vegas at Grissom's crime scene, and is greeted by a smiling Gil commenting 'I don't even have to turn around, Sara Sidle'. Nick is friendly from the off, but later Catherine and then Warrick treat her somewhat coldly.
Episode - Episode 1.10 Sex, Lies and LarvaeSara gets emotionally involved in her and Grissom's murder case, and she gets in the face of their suspect, the victims husband, Scott Shelton. Later after Grissom runs an experiment, with help from Sara outside watching the fly development on a pig carcase wrapped in a blanket, but it was also the Teflon coated bullets of the husband that proved his guilt. This is a clear case of Sara showing her hatred of domestic abuse cases. This is where Sara later states she became a vegetarian after the pig experiment.
Episode - Episode 1.16 Too tough to DieSara gets too involved in the Pamela Adler case, which later leads to a concerned Grissom talking to her about finding a diversion out of law enforcement, because if she doesn't find a diversion she will burn out.
Season 2
Episode - Episode 2.12 You've got MaleSara recognizes after the the case of a single woman who meets a guy over the Internet, and virtually bought everything she needed over the Internet, or ordering take out food by phone, making her almost a recluse, that her own life was scarily similar to the victim. So Sara starts to make some adjustments to her own life styles, throwing away all her takeout menu's.
Episode - Episode 2.15 Burden of Proof This episode is where Sara hands Grissom her leave of absence, and Grissom says "Sara, the lab needs you".
At the end of the episode Catherine visits Grissom at his home and she discuses 'having being burnt in a relationship', Grissom is seen right at the end ordering a plant to be delivered to Sara at the lab, with the sentiments on the card reading 'From Grissom'
Season 3
Episode - Episode 3.22 Playing with FireThere is an explosion in the lab and Sara get hurt. Grissom seeing her sat by the curb goes over and sees that she has a cut hand and says "Honey this doesn't look good" then signals an EMT to come over and take care of her. Later in the episode Sara asks Grissom out to dinner, but he declines adding "Sara.....I don't know what to do about this" indicating between himself and her. Sara replies back "You know by the time you figure it out, you really could be too late"
Season 4
Episode - Episode 4.12 ButterfliedAfter investigating a case of a woman who bares an uncanny resemblance to Sara, Grissom then confesses to the suspect Dr Vincent Lurie, his attorney and Jim Brass & unbeknown to him Sara in the observation room, 'I couldn't do it', in reference to taking a risk with a relationship with someone young and beautiful
Episode - Episode 4.23 BloodlinesNick gets the promotion for it to then to be cut , Grissom's decision to choose Nick for the position hurts her feelings, she goes out for drinks with the guys then gets pulled over for a near DUI, the PD call her supervisor, Grissom, who comes and collects her . Taking her hand he says to her "Come on I'll take you home".
Season 5
Episode - Episode 5.10 No Humans InvolvedSara looks into the case of The People V' Laura Sidle, she makes references to her own stay in foster care, and looks sad when she observes Grissom and Sofia working together.
Episode - Episode 5.12 SnakesSara admits to Grissom that she looks for validation in inappropriate places discussing some of her PEAP counseling session findings. Then tells him that he has always been more than a boss to her.
Episode - Episode 5.13 Nesting DollsA domestic abuse case tips Sara over the edge resulting in her being insubordinate to Catherine and then Conrad Ecklie, earning her a suspension. Later when Grissom goes to see her at her apartment and asks her why she is so angry, she reveals to him her very traumatic childhood.
Episode - Episode 5.21 CommittedSara is held captive by Adam Trent, with a sharp piece of pottery held to her throat trapped in a nurses station, while Grissom looks on totally helpless, pleading for the guard to please open the door. She continues to investigate the case even though it has clearly shaken her.
Season 6
Episode - Episode 6.24 Way To GoGrissom and her romantic relationship is finally revealed to the audience of the show, but it is still unknown to their co-workers, after a case which involves Jim Brass being shot.
Season 7
Episode - Episode 7.18 Empty EyesSara admits that she lost her perspective on the case, cries and Grissom wipes them away as they both leave the lab with Grissom having his arm protectively around Sara.

Sara is abducted by Natalie Davis in the parking garage, then later placed under a car in the desert just as a couple of storms are about to converge on the Las Vegas area, leaving her significant other Grissom and her co-workers to investigate, and find her location.
Season 8
Episode - 8.01 Dead Doll - 8.01 Dead Doll page
Grissom and the team all work flat out trying to find the location of Sara, after Natalie Davis being questioned by Grissom unsuccessfully. She is later found in the desert unconscious by Nick and Sofia, and she is transferred to hospital in a medivac helicopter with Grissom escorting her, en route Sara opens her eyes and spots the name lettering on her significant others LVPD vest.

Episode - Episode 8.07 Goodbye & Good Luck ( Sara leaves the crime lab & Las Vegas)
Sara becomes disillusioned with her job, and if she is really making any difference to solving crimes in Vegas, on top of that she is still dealing with her kidnap trauma, and the ghosts of her past. Deciding to leave the lab and Las Vegas to confront her ghosts, she gives Grissom a kiss goodbye, and leaves him a letter which he reads after she leaves the lab.
Season 9
Episode - Episode 9.01 For WarrickSara makes her return to the lab at hearing of Warricks death, she & Grissom embrace as they finally meet up again in his office. She helps sort out the arrangements for Warricks funeral as the team find out who killed their friend. She later attends the funeral sat next to Grissom & offers him silent support as he delivers Warrick's eulogy.
Episode - Episode 9.02 The Happy PlaceIn this episode we see Sara suggest to Grissom that they should go away on a vacation, he Say's he can't because the lab is short handed, & he asks her to stay, to which she replies that she can't. Greg pulls Sara into a current case that is connected with one of her difficult past cases (To Tough to Die), Sara struggles with the outcome of the husband having euthanized his own wife ending her permanent vegetative state & discusses it with Grissom in his office. Somehow Grissom seems to let his own personal feelings into his analogy of the case as he tries to placate Sara with an explanation for the husbands actions. Sara glares at him & at the end of the episode we see her pick up her backpack and leave Grissom's/their home.
Episode - Episode 9.05 Leave out all the RestIn this episode we see Grissom looking at a web cam message from Sara on his lap top in his office, the message is shown in different stages throughout the episode as Grissom seems to struggle with what it all means to him, then he goes to see his friend Heather under the guise of investigating a case. Later they discuss his relationship & recent events concerning it, Heather more or less tells him it is over, as he replies i never said the relationship was over. In the message Sara seems to free Grissom of any obligation towards her and their previous relationship, she tells him she's happy & he shouldn't worry about her any more.
Grissom carries on investigating the Dick & Jane serial cases as he prepares to leave the CSI Crime Lab. He spends a little time with each of his friends and team in this episode & the previous one saying his goodbyes. After he is seen smiling walking out of the lab, the camera opens up to him walking along carrying & consulting a GPS lo-cater, as he enters a clearing he stops as he spots Sara photographing a monkey. No words are spoken by either as she turns around and sees him stood there, Sara looks quite emotional as Grissom drops his backpack and quickly goes to her kissing her as he embraces her with eagerness.
Season 10
Episode - 10.01 Family Affairs
Sara returns to help out at CSI after being called by Ecklie for a person to recommend replacing Riley Adams who has left the team. She is now married to Gil Grissom, who is home in Paris, France doing seminars at the La Sorbonne waiting for their funding for a research grant to be approved. Sara uses a baseball analogy when talking to Catherine about the night shift team, when Catherine makes a comment, Sara remarks that being married you have to take an interest in your spouses interests. Greg is delighted to see her and asks how married life is, then later he and Nick laugh when they mention Grissom in relation to him now being Sara's husband.
