Back in June 20th We reported on the news page that Billy would be honored with his own star on the Hollywood walk of fame; - CSI''s leading man will receive a spot on the Walk of Fame......

William Petersen will be honored with a star on the Walk of Fame, and his series has earned an honor of its own.

On 27th January 2009 - It was Announced when he is to receive his star on the Hollywood walk of fame!

what a great way to celebrate his Birthday later this month on the 21st!

Q: What are the stars made of?
Each star is made of terrazzo and comprises of a pink five-point star that is rimmed with bronze and inlaid into a charcoal square. The name of the honoree is engraved in bronze and a round bronze emblem shows which entertainment industry the award was received

The Walk of Fame's star studded sidewalks stretch for 18 blocks (east west) along both sides of Hollywood Boulevard from Gower St. to La Brea Ave. The Walk of Fame also runs for 3 blocks (north south) along Vine St. beginning at Sunset Boulevard (crossing Hollywood Boulevard) and up to Yucca St.


6th February - Great video of most of the ceremony

This video is probably the best video that covers the event,
and it shows Billy thanking several people, including as he describes her,
his wife Gina, 'My beautiful & patient wife Gina'. Then he tells her that he loves her - Aw so sweet!

"I have never considered anything like this happening," Petersen tells ET.

"It has always been one job after another, trying to do good work. Who wouldn't be happy with that? So to get this kind of a deal ... over the years, I have come to appreciate the work that is done here and how hard everybody works. To be on the same street as Jack Benny, Bob Hope and Jerry Lewis, what better thing is there?

He says of his life post-"CSI": "[It is] quiet. My wife and I actually got to take a vacation two weeks ago. It was wonderful, but I miss everybody. I still am going to be over there as much as I can because they are my friends."

As for the return of Grissom, Petersen doesn't rule it out, but not in the immediate future. "It might be nice to appear as the character again, so I would do that," he tells ET.

Merg Helgenburger, Petersen's "CSI" co-star, and William Friedkin , who directed Petersen in the 1985 film "To Live and Die in L.A." and the 1997 television version of "12 Angry Men," was scheduled to join Petersen in speaking in the late-morning ceremony in front of the famed Musso & Frank restaurant on Hollywood Boulevard.

"Billy Petersen created, in Gil Grissom, a man of such brilliance and curiosity that it stimulated curiosity in all of us who watched him," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" executive producers Carol Mendelsohn and Naren Shankar said in a statement.
"Because Billy can say more with a look than most actors can with an entire monologue, Grissom's humanity always shined, whether he was bringing closure to a victim's family, sharing a meal with a bug, or an intimate moment with Sara Sidle.
"From the moment he picked up his crime scene kit, Billy didn't just play Grissom, he was Grissom. And that is the magic of Billy Petersen."

Seeing William Petersen dusting a pavement for clues isn't too surprising - after all he is the Las Vegas crime lab's top forensic specialist.

No crime had been committed, however. The CSI: Crime Scene Investigation actor was, in fact, playing to the cameras as he accepted a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

Saying he was "overwhelmed" by the honour, William added: "I never expected it".

"I can't think of anyone more deserving of this honour, Billy," she said. "Millions of fans love him for his many memorable roles, yet the sum of all the parts he's played don't come close to the complexity, the kindness, the mystery, the loyalty and the generosity that is Billy himself."




Petersen`s former CSI colleagues were also present at the revealing:

8th February 2009 - Gary Dourdan turns up late to congratulate Billy



After the star unveiling, they had an after party lunch at the famous Musso and Franks restaurant. After lunch, they came out and were nice for the fans that waited around. Signing autographs and taking photos.


Just as William was getting into his limo, Gary Dourdan shows up. He walked up to William he said he was sorry for being so late. Said that he "forgot that the star ceremony was today". They talked for a few minutes and went their ways.
